USBC Media Launches Power 50: In Her Words with Debut Episode Featuring Dr. ShantaQuilett Carter-Williams
New digital series spotlights the journeys, leadership, and impact of USBC Power 50 honorees and alumni
USBC Media is proud to launch Power 50: In Her Words, a new digital interview series featuring candid conversations with the extraordinary women recognized through the USBC Power 50 program.
Created to amplify the voices, experiences, and influence of Black women leaders across industries, the series offers viewers an intimate look at the personal and professional journeys behind their success. Through powerful storytelling, each episode explores the defining moments, challenges, and lessons that have shaped some of the nation’s most influential women.
The inaugural episode features Dr. ShantaQuilett Carter-Williams, globally recognized speaker, author, comedian, and women’s health advocate known as HeyShantaQ.
In a compelling conversation with host Makinna Moore, Dr. ShantaQuilett reflects on surviving two strokes and a heart attack—life-altering experiences that transformed her understanding of power, purpose, and resilience. What emerged from those challenges was a renewed commitment to helping women prioritize their health, embrace their worth, and lead with authenticity.
“Real power is a thing that is still in you when everything gets stripped away,” Dr. ShantaQuilett shares during the episode.
The conversation explores themes of perseverance, wellness, leadership, and self-advocacy, offering inspiration for women at every stage of their personal and professional journeys.
“Power 50: In Her Words was created to move beyond titles and accomplishments and highlight the stories behind the women who are making an impact,” said Makinna Moore. “These conversations reveal the courage, vision, and determination that continue to shape our communities and industries.”
Produced by USBC Media in partnership with the National Black Movie Association (NBMA), the series serves as an extension of the USBC Power 50 platform, which celebrates Black women leaders who are driving meaningful change across business, entrepreneurship, media, healthcare, education, public service, and beyond.
